Renewed the underside of the floor in all 4 corners and loads of other job too many to mention.
Knew nothing at all about caravans when I bought it. I do now!!
If anyone ever needs any advice on caravan problems let me know. If I don't have the answer there is a forum just like ours with loads of experts.
Sounds like a thorough renovation. The -joins- are always a problem as the van moves about on the road and temperature changes, heat to ice, let water in. That´s why 2 of my old vans are made of fiber glass. No seams to leak. No toilets in any of them. Every thing you need is -on site- these days. All you really need is a roof over your head, a bed, and the means of making a simple meal. Some storage for clothes etc is also good. My vans weigh about 350-400 kgs laiden. So there is no problems pulling them. don´t really need any -caravan- mirrors as they aren´t that wide plus they have got a line of sight all the way through the van

I havent towed my caravan for over a year now miss it greatly we don't have a tow bar on either car, the logical one to have one fitted to is our Freelander rather than the ZT.

Anyway, we have both made a promise to get out more this year.

Its a 1993 Swift Corniche, lovely van and only 12ft long.

Roverowner would you have a chat with the missus about all you need is a roof and bed etc, which is my feeling, because for some reason she likes to turn the awning in to some sort of harem/conservatory with wicker chairs and Persian rugs and candles! hehe

She even has a Hoover and I often find her hoovering up in the conservatory!

seems as though she´s very house proud. Probably pining for the fjords -read a little cottage. For me it´s the simple life (no comments about me being simple Spencer) Ache in your back for the first few days and then get used to it. Heavenly bliss when you get home to a real bed We have a dustpan and brush which gets used once a week but that´s no big deal as the floor space is about 6 square foot

Thanks Andrew and all for looking into this for us. I'm more than sure that this would be a very popular thread as there are so many of us that own and tow caravans on this site. Not forgetting the guys who tow trailer tents and trailers with tents in them.

Really look forward to seeing this if it gets off the ground

Default My old towcar and caravan

Thought I'd put on a couple of pic's of my old towcar and caravan. I have only just bought a 75 as a replacement, hope it performs as well as the Sterling.

Tow a Coachman 18ft approx, is sited in Scarborough atm at a camp called St Helens. I like the easy life, drive to van and put kettle on.
Would support a caravan and camping section.

Ive a trailer, which I tow in a tent, can I be part of the gang also?

When the weather improves I must assemble it and spray the water barrier over it actually!!!

Ive been told im 100% aloud a caravan when we buy our own house/find a nicer rented house providing the thing doesnt block the front of the house. Shes not interested in caravaning holidays currently but I think local and regional holidays will be on the increase over next few years as we save for our first morgage.

Currently we have no where to store one sadly else I had my eye on several older style ones last summer.

Was thinking something like this myself...
