LY04 KPU - Any history in the club?
Hi all! I recently purchased a ZT+ Saloon (KV6 160bhp) reg LY04KPU
It was a bit of a blind punt (Lockdown boredem...) from a dealer selling an unwanted trade in on eBay. My main car is a BMW M2 Competition, and I worked out that the insurance for a track day costs more than a lot of decent trackable cars! I've always quite liked the 75/ZT shape, so thought "why the hell not?". Hence why I now own LY04KPU, and have a track day booked in Donington next week. Upon picking it up, its actually a good solid car. It definately shows signs of being loved throughout its life, despite the lack of history! My previous plans to strip it have been put on hold as I'd feel a tad guilty. But we will see how we get on. Anyway, cutting to the chase, I thought I'd ask if anyone on here used to own it? Or at least, remember seeing it on here? Once again, a bit of a punt but worth a try. Maybe I can find out more about this barges past. |

Hi and welcome to the club. I don’t know if it is a club owned car but I can see that the grill has been customised as has the bottom of the bumper aperture with diamond wire. A mod carried out by a few owners on here. I am sure someone will be along shortly to let you know if it is a club owned car. I don’t know what you expect from a track day with the car,but please don’t ruin it.

I'll see how it goes next week. I know there are a couple of people out there who track them, at least one chap whos gone to the extreme with stripping his out etc! As it stands I have no plans to modify the car other than keeping on top of servicing and consumables. If for whatever reason I fancy a change, I'll make sure to advertise on here before anywhere else. |

Indeed, the only thing its lacking is the history on there. Either its been lost, or just never kept. But given the condition of the car I'd say lost.
As much as I wanted to strip it, I dont think I can bring myself to do it. Before Tuesdays trackday I'll be doing the front discs and pads, have 4 matching Dunlops fitted, and the cabin filter. Yes, the old one was wet! I've already cleared out the gunk. Only other job to do is sort the airbag light, I'm pretty sure its actually unplugged under the seat so I'll have a fiddle with that later. |

Hi Jason and welcome to the club
Do you know the colour code ? It'll be on the chassis plate at the base of the N/S B-pillar. Just wondering if it's Garnet....a rare & expensive Monogram finish, or the more normal Copperleaf (still quite rare on a ZT ) ?
