Thumbs up This may help

Hi, I have just removed and refitted the leather on back of both my front seats ( but not the piping) and it was relatively easy.
• Carefully prised leather near bottom and pulled upwards , freeing some of the orange foam backing with a pallet knife.
• Then removed all the foam from both hard seat shell and leather using scrapper and hard brush – sprayed ethanol but I understand soapy water works too.
• When all dried I coated both surfaces with 1:3 Water:PVA
• Finally , used a high temperature Spray Ahdesive ( Trimbond) off EBay , coating both the leather and hard shell before matching up and refitting :-
o Used small paint roller to smooth down
o Masked off the surrounding area with paper to stop Adhesive Spray getting everywhere

In fact, this was just part of my 'project' which actually focused on totally removing the Tourer Ceiling ( Headliner) and replacing the cloth because the old material had fallen to form a nice inverted tent right the way through! Basically , though , the same approach as above applied and it now looks great.

How did you get the back panel (with pocket) off without breaking the tabs?

Smile Others please

As regards the back pockets issue we really do need to call on other members here since mine are basic seats without a pocket I am afraid.
So over to others please.

Its not the pocket itself, just removing the panel is full of problems with clip breakage.

Thumbs up Further point

Repositioning the leather back correctly is not always the easiest thing - especially if , as you work down it does seem out of alignment and the glue above has already partially set. To help 'guide' me I use a needle and white cotton which I sewed as loops through several places along the line 'leather back sheet to seat' . I then cut the loops before stripping the main back sheet off , tied the loose ends and used the cotton markers to help repositioning when refitting. Worked quite well!

I'm going to change the whole set of my seat covers. I've read several articles on how to do this and this is the first time I've heard of " gluing " them back on. On the other hand, there is an article that tells you how to take the back panel (with pocket) off without breaking the tabs. You will need 2 long flathead screwdrivers.

Cheers
