caravans
Just wondering how many members tow a tourer. I have been towing caravans for over 50yrs but not all the time (Got that in before one of you do) and my first was a 14ft willerby with a solid fuel fire and a hardboard exterior. This is my outfit now.

I tow a 17ft Elddis to steam rallys etc. Planning on a trip up to Scotland this year. Last time I towed a 'van in scotland I covered over 2000mls in a fortnight!

Maybe not a caravan as such, but the mighty tourer will be pulling our teardrop to Lake Garda Italy this summer

I tow a 96 Swift Challenger (well, I did, but I haven't sourced or fitted a bar to the Rover yet). Going to have to watch my weight, as I'm going to be near 100% I'd say:

Caravans and camping. Been my hobby for few years. Had the use of a barn so collected anything -old- camping with the intent to get a museum going. Didn´t happen unfortunately. At the most, 9 vans and a trailer tent Plus many tents, from the 20´s onwards. Break point 1980.
When my large sons were small, holidays in UK and Denmark. One year 26 nights in our little Swedish SMV from 1964. Have 4 vans left. 2 from 1949, one from 1956 and one from 1965. The trailer tent is still there aswell. Pic of son Robert (now 21) in western Scotland. SMV 10 1964 And my old Volvo with the SMV on the back Last edited by Roverowner; 17th August 2011 at 17:14.. |
