Clayed the car

I spent yesterday cleaning the car. I used meguiars clay detailing kit.Very impressed.I followed this with a good coat of autoglm super resin polish and finished of with some extra gloss protection.Just really want to say,if you have not used the clay before,i really do recommend it.I couldnt believe how much difference it made..

Never clayed a car before but was thinking of giving it a go, it looks like it did a good job on yours. Was it a long job? hard work?

Same combo I use when I polish my car & the results are great & last for ages

Hi richy, from start to finish took about four and half hours. The claying was suprisingly easy.Just made sure i kept the panels well sprayed. I couldnt believe how much dirt came out on the clay.Another tip is keep folding the clay to keep it supple.Really got to say it was well worth the effort.

My missus bought me the Meguiars smooth surface clay kit for christmas so I am going to use mine this week. Washed the car yesterday, so the claybar etc will be out tomorrow. I too have never clayed my car so hpoing for some good results - hopefully be nice and shiny for the meet next Sunday.

Well, some geezer told me to try blu-tac lubricated with bodywork shampoo as a budget alternative. I must say, it works, but it doesn't clean as well as clay does. I use this, just need water, no clay lube, and the bar lasts for ever! I use this on my wheels too, you can use it on bodywork and I wholly recommend it if you don't want to shell out for this stuff which I use on my paintwork.

Clayed mine this morning, took around 2 mins before I dropped the first piece on the floor

. Oh well, done now, nice and smooth. Will polish tomorrow as the manflu is getting the better of me - you would have the thought the missus would have took over
