Default Fuel tank access panel under rear seat

This might seem a strange request. I'm restoring a Mk6 Escort estate and Ford saved money by not fitting any access to the fuel pump at the top of the tank (under the rear seat). So it's a full tank out job when the pump goes.

I understand that 75/ZT's have a panel - wondering if anyone would send me one for the cost of postage? I wouldn't know if they are the same on saloons and tourers but, if they are, a tourer one would probably be best.

No idea if I'll be able to make up a good fit into my Escort but worth a bit of effort to save time in the future. Ideally, if someone has the capability, the panel with the 'hole' as well so I can graft it in neatly but should be able to simply cut a clean hole and make up suitable fittings if not.

Thanks for reading.....

The panels on our cars have a bend in them, you could probably hammer it flat should you wish.

It would be fine to do that. The end result would still be tidier than trying to hand form a panel from scratch. Splicing in holds no fears, I've worse to tackle underneath.
