Default Removing srs fuse?

How do you remove the SRS fuse from under the glove box?

It has a yellow 'jacket' that doesn't respond to pulling, prodding etc.

Is there a special technique?

If you are changing something disconnect the battery. If you are pulling it because of a fault light my advice would be to sort the problem. If you pull fuse or don't sort a problem none of them will work! You never know when you will need them for real! My mum just had her Nissan Micro totalled by a deer that jumped on her car.

Airbags..yes please.

Personal opinion of course

I thought I'd read on here that one of the things to try when the airbag light comes on was to remove the fuse for 30 minutes and then replace, something to do with resetting the computer?

Have I misunderstood?

Airbag light is normally the plugs under the seats and would be the 1st thing I'd check!

I've heard of disconnecting the battery for 30 mins to re-set everything, but never taking the air-bag fuse out!

that is correct . that is a little tip from our very own pab.
if you have checked the yellow connectors under the seats and have tried a battery reset , then the removal of the fuse for 20 mins will reset the module.

...aaah you see, I'm starting to know stuff!

Questions.

Isn't removing the fuse the same as disconnecting the battery as far as the affected circuit would be concerned?

If so, why disconnect the battery?

If I want to disconnect and reconnect the yellow and blue connectors under the seat, do I need to disconnect the battery first?

If so, won't removing the fuse be as good?

TIA
