Default Heated front windscreens - any interest?

In my quest to keep parts available for our cars and improve what we already have, I've been in talks with a company that manufactures heated windscreens.

Is this something that'd be of interest to any members? Cost isn't firm yet, but they're not too cheap (usually £250-£380 for other models when custom-made, plus specialist shipping).

I've had an iced up windscreen for the last few winters, and clearing it has been a right pain as it's quite large.

It is a pain in the winter , I agree.Mondeo and the like had them fitted years ago and can't understand why our cars didn't.....that said i have the heated jets and a FBH and takes little time to clear and so not a viable option for me ...It is good however that people like yourself are trying to improve on the original spec. keep up the good work.

That's already been considered - we'll be doing 2 versions if we go ahead.

The signal can sometimes be 'upset' by heated windscreens, but I have used a TomTom in a Focus with a heated screen before. Took a little longer to lock onto satellites, but still worked OK.

If it becomes an issue, you could always mount an antenna elsewhere.

I'd be very interested. Can you knock one up for our Espace too please...that takes forever to clear a frozen screen!

As much as I admire what you are trying to do, Mat - I think the take up on this will be very low indeed

There was a similar group buy on the ZS forum, and that really took off - 2 runs of 20 done (from memory) and people clamouring to get them after that, too.
You never know...
