Hi,

Checked mine for a few weeks ago and discovered that the complete rubber hose was missing. Should I be concerned about this??

Excellent pictures, that really shows the importance of checking the plenum regularly and as said if the spyhole mod is done the task takes minutes.

Dear Parker, Is there a Rover 75 specialist garage in south Wales? I don't seem to be able to find one only Jules in the north. Chaselpaso

as I have never had a rover 75 before and had the car only a month, I wasn't previously aware of this issue, until I came across this forum.

two days ago my airbag warning light came on and at the same time, the trafficmaster went off (but has now come back on) - was that due to the ecu having water ingress?

on checking the plenum when I got home, I found a good few inches of water. id say approx. 3 to 4 litres of water came out. The drain hole was well blocked, and took some rodding - I used a bamboo shoot that my mrs had for the garden.

ill be doing a monthly check on this now, particularly this time of the year.

This issue is so bad that I assume it will affect all 75's. The good news is that its easy to cure.

Just need to make sure all is ok before you purchase it.

Hi Nick.
Read over the thread I how to check etc, and then check in front of the salesman or garage owner, let them see if any water come out and at the same time ask them to coff up or replace the pollen filter for you which will most certainly be wet and stinking.

Not forgetting to check if the ECU as been subject to a soaking also and could throw up faults later good luck Arctic

I can see the sense of that advice Steve but if the car you're buying has the spyhole mod, chances are it's been regularly checked and it's 1min to confirm it's ok down there.

If it hasn't, you can't easily check it and I can't see the seller being too keen on letting you do the necessary dismantling to get at it before you buy.
Not disputing that it's essential to check it before you buy (and I suppose it depends on how keen the seller is to sell) just flagging up that it's not quite so straightforward.
