LOL I'd call him back in for questioning when I've had a sprout dinner & reply in kind.

I've had a Beef stew made with a can of Guinness & two slices of black pudding slowly cooking in cast iron stock pot for three hours, It tastes so good

Received my 1st pension payment yesterday

New Tax code received this morning

Just because I worked hard and paid into a pension fund,I have to pay tax on my Old Age pension, which makes my net weekly Old Age pension the princely sum of £106 per week.,and that's after 40 years of loyal service.

Shafted by HM Gov again

Can anyone lend me 50p for a cuppa please

That's odd Steve - my understanding is that your State Pension is paid with NO tax deductions, but it obviously counts as part of your personal allowance. They then use the codes to deduct PAYE from your private pensions

You are correct Rod, I will pay tax on the amount of OAP I receive, which in real cash terms to me the additional income from my OAP and PO Pension is £106 per week

Which means I receive the full pension amount but my personal tax allowance is reduced by the total pension I get which in turn means I pay the extra tax on my P O Pension which means I pay 20p extra tax for every £1 I get OAP.

In laymans terms, they take it off me and give it to some benefit scrounger

Work hard all your life and they will hammer you, same as the motorist, we are a nice safe target.

I have seen the same faces sitting outside the pub in the summertime, never worked a day and they can afford to be there!
