All of the European free TMC sources are integrated. When TMC information is available, it is possible to view the TMC events either on the map as icons or as a list on a dedicated traffic information listing. Your PDA device should have an integrated TMC reciever or external TMC aerial connected.

Sean I think you are wrong,

It has nothing to do with IGO, as I said my current unit has (had) TMC until it developed a fault and I had to send it back to China for them to replace the GPS module, when I received it back I no longer had TMC, from the last email I received from them, they "forgot" to add the module, hence the need for me to have a unit with TMC.

See this tread on TMC, but it only seems to be for PDA devices not WCE units.

Myself and several other members who have IGO installed on there head unit, from various different suppliers and none of then have TMC working with IGO.

I did send you a program to test TMC on head units did you ever try it on the unit you had in stock?

I Didnt do it ,
I sent it to the factory but they do not HAVE TMC there. So not possible to test according to them.

Did Anyone Note the Comment at the last line ? TMC reciever or external TMC aerial connected.

Noted the last line you can not add a external TMC receive to the WCE file system as far as I aware? no point in having a external aerial as there would be nothing to connect it to on the head unit.

Hello all, is IGO8 a paid subscription service to get traffic jam updates and alternative routes while driving.
I'm not savvy with IGO8 or sat navs to be honest

thanks

The Only way that we are going to know, because we are unable to get adequate answers is to try. I cannot get adequate answers, or confirmations. I tried to word it 3 or 4 different ways and feedback everything from the forum. We are all guessing. But if the earlier units are getting TMC Via the GPS, I don't see why they current production won't. I can guarantee that they won't get TMC via FM. THAT Was made clear.
In China there is NO TMC Service.

What do you mean when you say they wont get TMC by FM?

Do you mean that the TMC information is not announced over the radio, or do you mean that the broadcast signal is not via FM?

I can confirm that the TMC information is only displayed over the IGO8 programme, but I still maintain that the signal is coming via FM, through the radio aerial. Disconnect the radio aerial and you get no TMC, plug it in again and the TMC immediately lights up on the IGO8 panel with the little envelope to announce that new messages came.

Do you want me to ask Cathy for you? Maybe my unit is some kind of prototype.
