why a Tourer and auto for long drives?

I have done 200 qnd 400 miles in a day both towing and solo and 600+ solo and like most, these distances will be on "open" roads not town driving so I really don't see much difference between auto and manual. Get on the motorway, into top and thats' it.

The auto and the tourer part aren't directly linked, it's more the diesel I want to do longer drives.

The tourer comes in handy as my longer drives tend to be going touring the northh coast of Scotland so it's 4-500 miles to get there, then the same back but I'll also have a car FULL of stuff so the lack of boot strut in the tourer comes in handy.

Auto is just because I've never owned one before and I fancy it.
