Well he hasn’t been here as there’s no whiff of sprouts; and it’s been raining here.

Morning all, Grey & rain here with more weather warnings out for heavy rain today The water has found it's way into the garage again & lots of mopping up to do I don't know whether it's worth bothering just yet though with more of the wet stuff to come.

Wet and miserable here too.
Finished off the guttering on the back of the hose at 8:30 last night so at least that was ready and waiting. We had that in our first house. Ended up putting a little "speed hump" just inside the door created with the help of a piece of guttering as a template/guide for the concrete (I do other stuff than guttering - honest). Maybe worth a thought? |

Morning all - eventually. We've lost the low cloud and mist, but not much sign of the sun yet.
Yesterday, my laptop decided to download Windows 10 Features update version 2004. It spent a few hours (!) downloading the update (it is apparently a humongous size) - and then more hours installing itself. It got to 84% complete - and then hung. Having had not dissimilar experiences in the past with Windows Updates, I left the laptop plugged in and running overnight - and got up to find it was still stuck on 84% complete. I've managed to undo the changes the system made during the update process, and fingers crossed, I'm back to normal. I've had a trundle around the internet, and it would seem that this particular update has been issued by Microsoft even though it is riddled with errors, and has caused many black (and blue) screens of death. The moral of the story is - do NOT let your PC download and attempt to install "Features update to Windows 10, version 2004" - it ain't worth the hassle

Morning all, It's still raining steady here & a new job to add to the list! the roofs dripping in the conservatory now
Quote:
I dug a deep drain away at the rear of the garage which cured most of the ingress of rain water but it's found another way in on the fence line with our neighbour, It's impossible to get between the garage & concrete fence to do owt about it Quote:
LOL I was gritting my teeth just with reading about Win 10 You got further than me at 84% Rod, The three desktops that I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 all had the same problem! only all three of mine stalled at 68% & each had several errors all different to each other All three now run Linux Mint & the worlds a happier place with less stress & headaches However I do have my gaming PC with Win 10 pro it came with and touch wood has been relatively OK,It just takes forever sometimes to download & install these damn updates, I don't use it for owt else as I don't want to tempt fate. The Linux/Ubuntu OS's are much more civilised I have one old HP XW 4600 workstation that I use as a media centre run Solus MATE OS on it runs like a champ. https://getsol.us/home/ So many freeware OS's out there these days for older PC's.
