You need the right loom, the button pack and 2 mirrors.
I have often heard that getting the wiring through the door gators is the hardest part... just getting one cable through is a PITA let alone a bunch with plugs on the ends...

doors off job really...

I seem to remember someone once saying that later cars have a standardised loom that incorporates most of the options.

Any truth in that ?

How basic ? Not that knowledgeable on ZTs, but if you have rear wind up windows (Classic equivalent) then the loom probably does not exist, and you will need to take an alternative method to fit Power Folds. As said it can be done, but it is path I decided against...

Apparently some members have found their cars already have the looms fitted.....I'm guessing there was shortfall on the production line or a simple error.

In any case it should be quite easy to check. Remove the control panel and see if there is a (IIRC 2wire?) spare plug floating around......

My ZT has factory fit sunroof and electric windows all round - i just fancy up specing - suggestions have been made about fitting a set of full leather electric seats / powerfold mirrors etc - have previously had zr / zs most stuff on those is simple to add

Also the doors are quite heavy so you are going to need another pair of hands to assist you.

Don't know about ZT's, but I fitted Powerfolds, and found the main loom to the door all there and OK just had to add the loom from the mirror and switches.
Just make sure you have all the wires before you start.
It is not difficult just be methodical!

I retrofitted power folds to my zt , I'm lucky that my car had a loom fitted that would allow all the factory extras to be fitted.
The hardest part is the door connectors but if you loosen the wings and remove the 2 lower bolts it will pull out enough to get at them, easier than removing the door 😀
When you've reconnected it cover the exposed parts of the connector in grease or Vaseline, you'll see that it already is but add a bit of extra.
Other than that a pretty straight forward job but can be time consuming if you do it carefully.
