Over70's- over the hill.
A lady doctor on the radio saying because over 70's are likely to get the Corona virus. and be a drag on the country, they(70's and over) should be kept locked up when the rest of the country gets "everything going" Sounds very much "some pigs more equal than others" I suppose the local Council could do a monthly collection of the corpses, maybe a red cross on the door of any over70's dwelling. Personally I don't care much as Im over 80!. The lady is a member of some patient something or other group so I suppose she must show she is thinking about things and not just taking the money. Well if you look at the figures its not just the over 60's and 70's who are at higher risk, but smokers, obese people, men and ethnic minorities.
So most of the population will still be locked away ! |

I sincerely hope some busybody tries to keep me locked down. It may have escaped attention but physical restraint by force is still illegal without parliamentary ratification. Not merely an 'order in committee', but actual legislation to be used if a potentially violent situation arises. So bring it on. From 6' away.

I've been listening to this debate on BBC radio Manchester this morning in the garage & every person ringing in who it would affect said they'd ignore the order.

Mmm.
Looking for a silver lining here, Mrs B isn’t 70 yet, so she’d have to be doing all the running around, shopping etc.... But on reflection, I think I’d be joining the dissenters, having just returned from a lovely walk by the canal with the aforementioned MrsB. Can’t see myself not taking the 3 wheeler out, going to church, or rehearsing/gigging in the band, let alone not seeing the grandchildren - for a year!

Sounds like an idea of being forcibly secluded 'for your own good' to me. Same sort of people that fight for peace. And would, if they could, stop anyone doing anything with any risk attached: as if everyone would live forever (yuck) if only they didn't do things that shortened their lifespan.
I've already come across 2 mentions of this from the point of view of ageism and discrimination. And was wondering what plan anyone was objecting to. The cynic in me now thinks this was succesful false flag propaganda. As in let's object to something that no-one is suggesting - it puts the idea in peoples heads without giving the idea overt support. They'll be enough loonies to support the idea once it's been mooted....

I suspect these stories about the over 70s are just to test the water before coming to a conclusion. I would be ready to sue for ageism!

What will be interesting to see what order the vaccine gets dished out when we eventually get it. If over 70's are the high risk will they get it first or the people with pre existing medical conditions?
If the larger people in our society who smoke with an ethnic background are the higher risk is it time to start eating and take up smoking? I was told a sad story today by a friend who lives in Birmingham. There neighbours daughter came home at the beginning of last week saying she was not feeling well, she had a bit of a temp so her parents sent her to bed and prepared to lock down. The following day she could hardly breath and her heart was racing, the paramedics took her to hospital and she was transferred to ITU, within 24 hours she had sadly died. She was only 26,white, did not smoke and not large or had any underlying health conditions. So sad. |
