I removed the glass and slide again, checked everything, and refitted the glass without the slide as I've ordered a refurb kit for £12.99. BMW spec but six out of the eleven parts are what I need. Rimmers and some other Rover parts suppliers charge £28 each just for the clips alone although http://mgrovergenuine.co.uk/genuine-mg-rover-parts/mg-rover-exn100150-stop-guide-sunroof have them for £9.48.

I was able to lever the glass back a little (1-2mm) whilst tightening the front & rear screws and it seems to have made a difference. Noise increases about 55mph upwards but then it might always have done that. I can't tell now really so I'll give it the 7-day test after I've refitted the blind later in the week.

Dougie.
