BM24 TMC problems
I've just installed a BM24 radio tuner module. Sound quality seems quite a bit betteer & I'm getting the available stations list (as you would expect). My only problem is that the TMC isn't active. Is there something I should be doing in a service menu somewhere to get TMC green again? The label on the unit clearly says TMC.
Thanks |

Time for an update...
Went out for a drive to see if the TMC would magically kick into life - which it did, for about 10 minutes, then went from green to black again... can't get it back now. I really love intermittent faults! Is it looking like a dodgy BM24 unit? Will it be happier with a mk4 nav computer? Cheers, Paul |

Not quite so sure with the BM24 but to test TMC working tune into Classic FM if it works all the time TMC working OK, check aerial connections OK, other than that you will have to wait for keith or any other Knowledgeable person to turn up. (Sounds faulty otherwise as it should pick it up TMC all the time that is the point of the dual tuners facility).

Is it definately a dual tuner version?
i.e does TMC remain green when tuned elsewhere? Also make sure the HRW is not on as that really makes a difference to reception There is an option in the service mode (don't ask me where) to cancel the second tuner seeking out the TMC frequency and set it to a fixed channel not a good idea but perhaps someone did that, has it come from abroad? |

Not sure if it is a dual tuner version, I had assumed all BM24's were. I can't get TMC active when tuned to classic FM, listening to a CD or with stereo off.
The unit came from Ireland which according to the ITS TMC website does not benefit from TMC broadcasts. So my next stupid question (bet you knew this was coming Keith!) how do I access the service mode? I've tried holding the TP button for 10 secs, all I get is a screen asking me to input my preferred TP station. |

Sorted!!!
I had Radio 1 set as my TP station. Changed it to Classic FM and now get a lovely green glowing TMC. Thanks Keith & John for the pointers. Paul |

Tmc
Now that is odd.
My BM24 was set to Classic for the TP station, TMC was green. Over one month ago I changed the TP station to Scotland, the TMC has remained green. But the TP station now changes to other stations as I drive to other areas. TMC is almost always green, only in poor reception areas when the radio reception is poor will green turn off. |
