Nice update, and the car is looking very well indeed.

I really rate the 476S and can't wait to give mine a coat :-)

Now, for a quick update on the 2000.
It's done sterling service over the summer, being used for quite a lot of runs, and even for a spot of commuting. Aside from some work on the engine earlier in the year, relating to a leaking O-ring at the back of the block, and resetting all of the valve clearances in the head, it's been pretty easy to use! I had issue with the jet for the carb, but that's been replaced.
Most recently, the 2000 was taken to Manchester, to the indoor Classic Car Show, held at event city a couple of weeks ago, where the car was to be on the Young Guns Classics club stand. It developed a knock from the front suspension, which was a tie bar, on inspection. I decided to replace the tie bars on both sides before the trip, which made a big improvement to the turn-in, and the steering's characteristics in general. The car was taken down the M6 at modern speeds, with plenty of overtaking, and absolutely no issues. On the way home, I spent a night in the Lakes, with a bit of touring the next day, before returning to uni.
The car has been phenomenally good this year, and is now just about where I want it mechanically. Cosmetically, things aren't outstanding, but it still looks acceptable. I think there are going to be a few things that need done next year.
The only issue that has arisen is that a wheel-bearing is getting slightly noisy, so that'll be replaced soon!
Anyway, some 2000 photos!

Just a very quick fleet update!
The 75 did a big mileage over the weekend, covering ground very quickly, comfortably and quietly, on a very last minute trip to the South Lakes, to watch some historic rallying. It never fails to impress me on quick motorway runs, and it's remarkably chuckable on those backroads.
In other news, the 2000 has appeared on this website, aimed at young drivers, showing them that a classic can make a great first car.

The pictures of your P 6 look great. Same colour as the 2200SC my mother had in the early 80s. Lovely drive too!

Thanks Chris! My 2000 is an entirely non-Rover colour in actual fact, but, I know it can look a bit like Tumeric yellow, used on 2200s and 3500s, in photos.

On second viewing I suppose it does look a bit more yellow. Looks great though.

Just managed to see the entire thread and you have impeccable taste in cars. As for the early bit about your age and buying a rover 75, well I'm just staggered that it took me until I was 48 to get my first 75! Had lots of cars from the same stable since I passed my test in 1982 but seem to have waited 14 years so that "all the bugs" could be found and removed from these cars. Is there a smilie icon for "tongue in cheek?"
Had a Vauxhall Omega with a LPG conversion. At the time was paying just 46p per litre. Got my money back in 8 months as I was doing 20k per year and it sold in a flash with 152k on the clock.
Great looking car your 75. Keep up the good work on the fleet.

Thanks very much! I can't afford to have the same taste in cars that I would like, but I do what I can with what I've got! I see you've got a Scimitar GTE. I'd love to buy an SE5 at some point in the next few years, having fond memories of my parents' friends' SE5, and I can't believe how affordable they are to buy. Everyone I know who's owned a Scimitar can't recommend it highly enough.
The LPG just makes running a 75 very painless. I'm not a fan of diesel cars, in general, and when I can run a V6 for less than it'd cost me to run a diesel, it seems the best way. I'm now paying around 65p per litre.

After a great deal of consideration, I've taken the plunge, and acquired an Ash Grey leather interior from a Cowley car, complete with double-piping, embossed headrests, and a leather armrest. A huge thanks to Alex (chiboy24659) for giving me them, gratis.
They're in need of a clean, and although a lot of the electrics are missing, this isn't an issue. I'm going to transplant the covers onto my existing front seats, all being well (thanks to Ross R75 for the helpful hints!).
As I'm finished uni for Christmas, tomorrow's job is to get the seats cleaned up, and to apply some leather cream, in order to get them looking, and smelling as good as possible!
Removing the leather covers, and transferring them onto my existing seats will all happen in due course.
A quick, and terrible photo, but hopefully, there'll be more to come in the very near future.

A shot of the 75 to show that it's still being used and enjoyed in the meantime.

Other than the seat swap, I'm hoping to acquire some cheap rear mudflaps soon, and ideally, some V6 exhaust finishers. Longer term plan is to acquire a pair of better Unions for the rear, and attend to a few little cosmetic bits.
