I absolutely love the car in terms of how it drives, rides and sound. However, the car came with a sunroof which I wasn’t aware of before viewing. As I’ve seen plenty of horrors of when one of those starts to leak (drains mostly), I would like to hear your advice as to whether I should be put off by the sunroof? I know that’s quite a cheap fix/preventative measures (I’ve read all the guides) but I won’t trust myself to do it (4 drains!), and I can’t seem to be able to find any Rover specialist very close to me (with the nearest one 50 miles away - thinking of Dreadnought) - also that the aftermath of one of those leaky episodes seems quite annoying to clean up!
Just done both my front drains. Passenger side had been done but failed after several years. The best way to g o as a result of this failure is to follow Trikeys advice and insert a smaller diameter tube inside the existing one. I used CT silicon for wet and dry conditions. Worked a treat~

Thumbs up Tape to use

I was asked for the tape I use - Gorilla Tape Black Heavy Duty Weather Proof Repair Duct Tape off EBay. Works perfectly . When fitting it I first prepare a rounded paper template for the corners of the sunroof and use it to cut a rounded corner to the end of the tape strips.

All the best

My 75 is about 20 years old now and has not leaked, but I think i remember my friendly mechanic saying he had done something to the drain tubes. Maybe that's why.

Never had any problems with mine, checked over by Jules just after purchase.

It's quite nice having the sunroof open in the Summer and it also makes the inside of the car much lighter with the sunroof shut and headliner cover slide slid back allowing more light in during the whole year if required.
