Question for the T4 experts
Need to replace a Airbag module (Mems type YWC107090) I found that the one currently fitted has the airbag light on, upon testing it shows the fault as 3 rear pre tensioners, none are fitted as its a tourer so I guess at some point someone else replaced the module with the correct part number, but it's come from a saloon not tourer, is there anyway to tell by the barcode if it's from a saloon or tourer module? I guess replacing the module with the correct part number module from a Tourer mah cause a vin mismatch but I'm presuming that will only bring up err on the odometer and no other issues, as long as it's a similar spec, ie no curtain airbags etc.
Any help would be gratefully recieved as TOM Holland has kindly been trying to assist me with this, but we are both at a loss, and I would like to keep this tourer road legal for its MOT. Kindest regards mick

When updating any of the dealer options, T4 will write the correct ZCS coding to the the SRS DCU, and the faults can be cleared HTH Brian P.S. it is exactly the same part for saloon and tourer, it is the way it is configured with T4, I don't have any cars fitted with Temic SRS, or I could have done it for you |

If you replace it like for like with a car that has the same amount of airbags, and the same system it will work, otherwise not, likewise if you were thinking of your yellow tourer, that would have an Autoliv SRS DCU, not a TEMIC one I don't know if Phil could do it with his "car in a box", may be worth asking Brian Last edited by marinabrian; 16th August 2016 at 20:05.. |

No it's not my yellow tourer, it's a friend of mine who has a early tourer, with the earlier airbag system, if I went like for like, as Tom has offered to send a few down do you think it would cause a err of the odometer? My friend just loves his tourer and it's due a MOT? Once again I would like to thank you for your help Brian, your specialist knowledge is like MasterCard 😃 Priceless Mick

Provided both cars have the exactly the same airbag set up, including if fitted curtain airbags, it will work ok
T4 would flag up a VIN mismatch, but then again that won't cause any issues, in fact T4 would simply overwrite the VIN with the correct one Brian |

T4 User Guide
Hi,
Please accept my apologies if this is a bit off topic. Some months ago a member of our MG club here in Canberra Australia purchased a T4 but it did not come with any user guide - so it has yet to be used on any of our club cars. Would anybody happen to know whether a 75/MG user guide exists for the T4 and if so, whether a copy is available for purchase? Regards, Paulcnb |
