Thanks Zeb - Yes, all CD's you see on eBay are pirated copies. You can, however buy the Haynes Workshop Manual which covers all engine types and is perfect for the home-enthusiast who wants to service/maintain their own car.

We don't right now...
They USED to be available from Brown and Gammons. However they are out of stock and NLA (and have been for a number of years) It's a shame because before they started using CDs the repair manuals used to be available in paper format from the parts counter at your local stealer. |

Try Brown & Gammons for workshop manuals on CD.
Brown and Gammons are excited to launch a new line - Genuine MG Rover Car Manuals on CD ROM! This is a leap forward in manual technology and allows the user finger tip access to MG Rovers comprehensive information for specific vehicles. No longer will you have to thumb through dirty, tattered manuals to find the page you want is missing. The CD ROM gives you all the repair manuals you'll ever need. http://www.ukmgparts.com/index1.html?o=12099361975448 |

Yes it is. I had got used to buying MGR Repair manuals for most of my previous cars. These weren't cheap (the R800 ones I bought were £50 each and there were 6 of them) but they went into pedantic detail.
I wanted to buy discs and was lucky to get my set for the F from a dealer "fire sale". It is identical to some of the eBay discs but mine is an original. I was unable to get one for the 75/ZT though But the Haynes manuals have got better in recent years (not as good as they used to be) and are adequate for the DIY mechanic. |

I wonder why Haynes don't produce their maintenance manuals on CD-ROM? I know it's useful to have the book actually with you under the car, but they do get very grubby. It would be useful to read up about a particular job at the keyboard then print off just the bits you need to take outside with the toolbox. Seems to me they're missing out on a big but slightly different market for their books.

I can only think the possible piracy of them put Haynes off - which like you said is great shame.
