Default How to remove pull cord from

How do I remove what looks like a pull cord, for the fuel filler? The "cord" is in the off side internal panel of a Tourer?

There looks like a fitting half way along the cord, does this come apart or do I need to remove the cord from the mechanism it attaches to, if so how?

The rear inside is now looking a bit bare as so much has been removed so it can dry out and this is the last item to take apart

thank you

No problem Arctic, its nice I get to solve my own problems.

I never knew the sunroof drains went to the rear, that's another damn good how to you have written.

Back of the car is looking a bit sorry for itself as all behind the rear seats has been removed.
The sides have been in the wife's airing cupboard for a few days and are mow dry, the floor over the spare wheel was in the conservatory drying, that's now dry.
The inside of the car now looks dry, all I need to do is prove where the leak is from, I think there may be more then 1 leak. Near side rear window and one up high as the rear off side pillar was very wet.

will search in a couple of weeks, too busy at the moment
