Default Strange abs issues

As I expected when my abs light came on and loss of speedo it was a failed offside abs sensor. What surprised me was the fuel guage fluctuating from a third of a tank to almost empty. Even more strange was the outside air temperature not registering, all of which are now working properly with a new abs sensor fitted. Is there a connection with these faults or just coincidence.

Weird, can only guess it might have something to do with the communication system and its priority for critical functions, in this case the ABS, and other functions in the background which are less important get low priority.
Had dead ABS sensors, or rather bearings, and never noticed anything like you describe, could help others though so an interesting post.

Mine did the same when I had a temporary ABS issue - fuel gauge went crazy and speedo stopped working. When the nearside ABS wire got damaged (during spring chnage) the cruise control stopped working. Seems various bits of equipment use these abs sensors too!!
