Help, non-starting CDTi again!
Well, after having changed the fuel pump again, the car started briefly, running fine but as soon as I stopped it and tried again a few minutes later, no power going to the pump (the black/green relay in passenger side fuse box is fine) so i am stumped why it worked once after refitting the pump, but not now!! any suggestion, maybe a duff sensor somewhere?? The car is no non-running and blocking our other car on the driveway doh!!!

I would try a separate earth from the pump in case there is a break in the harness, you may have briefly reconnected a dodgy wire when moving the connector.

Thanks Trikey, tried that, no difference. I did apply 12v direct from the battery and this energises the pump, so I guess something 'upstream' of the pump is causing my issues.

.......also, maybe stupid question but could I run the pump direct from the battery just to move the car to our other driveway or is it more complicated than this?

quick update, I noticed that when trying to start it, all normal lights on dash except oil can.
disconnected battery fro 10mins, reconnected and fuel pump was running again. Left for a minute, oil can symbol now coming up on dash..... ....car started and running nomally again!! so is there any relevance to the missing oil can symbol as before??

See how it goes but if it starts intermittently cutting out or not starting and the fuel pump not running drop me a pm.
I can test it for you and if it is faulty I can repair it for you or I have service exchange units in stock if necessary. Russ
