Today I’ve fitted new plugs gapped at 0.6mm on my 1.8T and went on a little test drive. I have to say there was no difference to the high RPM stutter.
Then I replaced the boost solenoid valve and took it for another test. This has made a significant improvement, no more violent shuddering. However there is still a very slight miss between 5k & 6k RPM at full throttle. No where near as bad as it was before. There is so much mentioned of this on the internet, I’m beginning to think I may be expecting too much for it to completely go away. Pipework looks fine from what I can see, I will replace the coil packs and leads next. For now though the car is much more drivable, the boost solenoid was well worth the £15. |

Eventually got round to fitting my 'new' undertray that only cost £20 (shame postage was twice that!!) The underneath and engine bay is filthy after a few months without a cover so had to remove much dust before fitting the replacement one. I just hope that those twisty screw things keep done up, the last was held on with screw/bolt thingies but still managed to drop off and get smashed coming up our farm track!!

Changed the pipe fitting for the headlamp washers then fitted the undertray with the new fixings.
I have to say I find them a pain in the proverbial, ok if you have a ramp or lift, not so when you’re on the floor albeit with the car raised, on the next oil change they’ll be replaced with new originals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

They only need some Waxoyle on them. Won’t go rusty and easy to undo.

Ok, so yesterday on SLZ...
Replaced the cubby holder between drivers and passenger seats, as the old one had the remnants Of what looked like a melted battery in the cubby hole.🙄 Also cleaned the interior 😱😱 Too much work for one day me thinks.😅 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
