With lubricant and a drift, my genuine X-Part bushes were easy to tap onto my original suspension arm in the vice. Aftermarket parts may be different.

I've just finished replacing my nearside control arm and bush and the bush went on with just slight pressure after putting some grease on the arm. The main problem i had was lining up the bolts on the housing, got 1 in but other wouldnt go in. Got there eventually. The bush was the original one already fitted as it was in good order but the arm was a new one (from Germany) as the hub balljoint was shot. Glad yours ended in another years rovering!

Mine's was the opposite - had to press the bush on but had no issues at all getting the bolts in. I tried first time and noticed it was at the wrong angle so pulled it out, put it in my vice and twisted the arm some. Put it back in and the bolts went straight in with my fingers.

Another year's Rovering yes but perhaps no more. I've got a rusting rear arch and sill... I always wanted a V6 automatic tourer to convert to LPG but needed a car quick so bought this one off a forum member. I've had almost 4 great years and 40k miles but I'm at a stage where I need to start throwing some serious money at her and as she was never the Rover I wanted it feels like I'm throwing good money after bad. There are advisories for subframe mountings corrosion too. If it was my dream car I'd spend the money no problem but I'll probably try and run this one another year then look to buy something else. I'd still love the V6 tourer but the prices I see them going for now are astronomical! Hoping I can pick one up in the next 12 months spares repair and do the work, otherwise I'm going to end up with something Japanese or German... I'll never buy a French car again that's for sure!
