This was a local family run garage that’s quite good. Tbh most places try to sell you a tyre nowadays rather than repair, so I was pleasantly surprised.
I gave up on Qwik-Fit a long time ago as they seemed to run a work creation scheme, focused on on a limited menu of repairs. Not necessarily what most needed doing!

The Rover fleet grows!
Today I caught the train from Lowestoft to Woking and bought a Moonstone green diesel auto tourer. Club se spec with 101,000 miles on it. It had been parked under a tree for a few weeks and was so covered in leaves and sticks it looked camouflaged for an army exercise! The boys in the car wash were so pleased to see me! Then drove the 130 miles home. The car drove beautifully and I arrived home with no aches whatsoever. I think I need to stop buying them for a while now!! See you all at East Kirkby

Finished yesterdays job of fitting a towbar to a tourer for a local member, then thought I'd do some cleaning on the Dorchester, as it has sat around for over a year while it awaited the replacement engine, the cleaning took all afternoon, lots of green mould behind trims etc.

..... Fitted a new Plenum Panel, courtesy of Rimmer Bros.... ordered a few weeks ago, first one arrived damaged, (in cardboard box with no packing, just in a plastic bag.)
Top marks to Rimmers though I rang them as soon as it arrived, they said no problem, "will send out another out", arrived two days later.... top customer service Also carried the Spyhole Mod too! So I have the damaged one (see photo - taken through plastic bag)if someone could make use of it free of charge, I am at East Kirby meet on Saturday... so can bring it with me. Also fitted new bonnet struts last week, which work well!!! Cheers Maurice |
