Default John MGR

Just picked my car back up from John today. He's done a great job of sorting my car out. Se has had both rear arms, both lower arms, rear springs and sub frame. The car was a mess see pictures. No way should it of past its last MOT. I'll make sure I fully check a car I buy from now on. Not just look a all the paperwork I got.

is there a case for the DFT MOT inspectorate to investigate the previous MOT and the tester who signed it off as a pass?

I'm no expert, but I will take some convincing that, considering the advanced state of deterioration, it was fit to pass an MOT just six months ago.

I am sure that MGR John will be a very credible expert witness if it came to it.

This was almost certainly a trade MoT, or possibly a brown envelope transaction.

If you did wish to pursue it, I think that the extent of the rust would be difficult for the issuing MoT garage to explain.

I know that an MoT is technically only "valid" on the day of issue (or it used to be) but this is clearly an extreme case.

Regards

Mike

what has been said about proving the mot was a dud when it was issued is probably correct. If 100 people all have the same problem and the mots are from the same testing station, 100 complaints may prompt some action.
To do nothing makes one part of the problem and not part of the solution

Someone had a favour paid when that was MOT what did the MOT say were there any advisories on it, check it out.

https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history

trade MOT is when a car sales place as it put through certain garages, you scratch my back , nod and a wink ect, silver crosses palms and so on, but wait does that really still happen ? you bet it does.
