Actually, I have read the article. I am and remain correct - there is a need to pay attention to the subtleties of the language used in the article.

I fail to see where it says anything of the sort. It does say one guy had his Imperial Scales confiscated by the court and he was given a conditional six month jail sentence.

It also states “Georgia Thorburns father, Steven was convicted in 2001 for breaching an EU Directive banning the use of pounds and ounces in favour of the metric measurement system”.

So he wanted to use lbs and oz’s and was breaking EU law.

Whilst I’m tempted to ask what subtleties of language you think you have found that negates this. But I suspect it will just result in more nonsense. So answer if you wish - but in the words of a Tracy - I really am not bothered.

The above should give a clue!

If not, I wish you a long and healthy life.

It’s that sort of double speak that does you no favours.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

I imagine that this could be very time consuming.

I don't know where in the country you are, but scope for a social visit by your regional areas' members, maybe.

Wow . . . and Wow again. No doubt you need all of your Winter Fuel Allowance to keep that running. Not the Flying Scot, but a Real Grown-up Boy's Toy. Wonderful. Great stuff.
Ah, and Hunslet. We happen to have the Gt Grandson of David Joy living here in this village - and he owns and maintains a WO Bentley.
