Loosing power uh oh
Hi, just wondering if the under bonnet pump is meant to have diesel coming out of the plug on top of it?
Been getting intermittent power loss (won't rev) and guessing the under bonnet pump is the culprit. The in tank one is working perfect. Already ordered one from DMGRS, just wondering if with the diesel in the plug, its dropping power from air ingress into the system via the pump. |

No it is not supposed to come out anywhere other than both ends where it is connected. I had a new one that I had bought from Rimmers about nine years before as a spare, and when my pump became noisy, decided to change it. The new one kept getting diesel on the underside of the pump. After three tries, I was advised that it was obviously leaking from the bottom of the part that the pump itself sits in. Put another one on and everything was ok. Lesson learnt.
