All good now though as they are legally required here.
One question I do have...Can TOAF be used ton reset the language on the IPK?
Mine is in German and my knowledge of the language is limited to ordering schnitzel and beer so it would be nice to switch it to English.
Very easy, all terms in Toaf speak: IKE / coding / informations / message centre language - select from the menu on the right.

Keep well

Refitted the fuel tank heat shield which had made a bid for freedom due to electrolytic corrosion from the steel washers, in readiness for its MOT on Thursday.

Made up some squares of galvanised steel and placed these on the heatshield. I'm not sure of the effect of galvanising against aluminium but at least it will stop the heatshield falling onto the exhaust.

Thanks Mike, TOAF didn't want to talk to the IKE yesterday but I will give it another go once the car passes the test and is road legal.
I am only doing what is required up to that point as I don't want to create any issues.

Hi,finally got round to taking off my rear subframe/suspension assembly over the last few days.Been meaning to to do it for ages, got another sandblasted and primed/painted subframe and painted suspension arms, new springs,ARB drop links etc ready. Not much fun doing it on your own in the driveway,at least the weather is kind. While under there have taken off the fuel tank cradle and heat shield for renovation. Will definitely ask someone to help me lift the subframe ass back on!Will see how long the aches/pains and bruising will take to heal.Would have been less painful 20 years ago.Regards Ryszard.

Default Coolant leak found

Finally found the small coolant leak, which fortunately is a hose, and nothing too sinister! Best described as on top of the gearbox and under the charge air hose.

Swapped out an aftermarket turbo boost gauge for an oem clock. I want to know what time it is more than I need to know how much air is going through the turbo or whatever.

I like that pulley locking tool Arctic!

Today my new ZT-T passed it's provincial safety test with no issues.
My joy was dashed when the registration was refused as they didn't like my translation of the German registration documents. They are insisting on a certified translation by a professional translator. For crying out loud it's mostly numbers, and the balance of the information is easy to decipher. That will no doubt cost a couple of hundred dollars more.
At least I was able to drive the car for the first time since it arrived (On a $38.00 one-day permit!)
Edit: I also discovered that the ZT-T has power-fold mirrors, which work perfectly.
