Back home after our long weekend up in the North East.

Decent weather the whole time and went out to see the Sunderland Festival of Lights on Sunday evening. Lovely display, our two-year-old grandson loved it - even though it was past his bedtime .

Didn't get to meet up with Rich but had a good chat this morning. He's had a busy weekend with family stuff which was good to hear. Still on track for more hospital input in January but glad to be back at home all the time.

Keep going mate, we're all with you. Catch up for that cuppa next time .

Lousy journey home with some sort of problem on the A1 at J39-J38 which meant we had a scenic tour of sunny Doncaster and arrived home a good hour later than expected . But all safe and sound which is probably more than some poor folks can say as there was another incident Northbound too.

Quizzie's a star on long journey's. Just settles down in the back of the Tourer and that's it. Bless her.

Glad you had a good time Andy, the festival of lights is always worth seeing. You cant beat a doggo that settles down nicely on a car journey

Cool

Morning everyone from damp Saltash.

Cracking day out yesterday to Polperro then onto Seaton.

And the best fish n chips to round off the day from our local chippy.

Off to the shipwreck centre today in Charlestown.

Morning all.

Dry and mild here. Maybe a shower a bit later but otherwise looking good and a high of 16 degrees .

A neighbour has discovered a sinking patio. The excavation reveals broken drain pipe. Not too much of a surprise considering that whoever put them in used house bricks, tiles and just about anything else they could find except pea gravel/sand/something else suitable to sit the clay pipes on.

Homeserve insurance - we'll look after all you supply and drainage - came out, lifted one manhole, said it's shared (with the other neighbour, run off from their garage roof only) so it's not covered and went away. The fact that the run-off pipe joins after the collapse apparently doesn't matter .
