Well clean....ish bill of health for the missus, she has a heart murmur but told it's nothing to worry about The sun has come out here & it's bootiful, pity the grass is saturated as it could have done with a mowing.
Scored at ASDA on the way back from the hospital 1 kg of cubed pork for £1.89 & three packs of 10 slices smoked back bacon for £0.90 each on the reduced shelf
Packet of Somerset pork seasoning & plenty of veggies & it's in the slow cooker for tea tonight

Afternoon all.

I'm now a fully paid up member of the aches, pains and lack of movement club.

Shifting a ton of gravel into a freshly dug out soak away has done me in .

Oh, and SWMBO thinks that it'd look better with "pretty" gravel on the top .

In the meantime Quizzie & Bertie have been out and about together.

Here they are investigating a lake.....

And ten minutes later having an enthusiastic play...

It's a dog's life

Lovely photos Andy of Quizzie and Bertie having fun, so natural looking. Mind you don’t hurt yourself

Cool

Evening everyone.

Strawberry has now been returned to Matt. Great little car but the repairs would have far too expensive

Can't complain about the maintenance cost of my R25 but the annual tax grab on it levied by the expenses fiddlers leaves a sour taste in the mouth. It gets very little use and does very little mileage, a few hundred per year if that so its emissions over one year will be considerably less than some vehicles taxed at 0 or much closer to that figure. As a result I have over recent months been looking at replacing it with a small 3-pot runabout to benefit from a £30/yr or less tax grab. Cars like the Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107 have been catching my eye, not good reviews for motorways and long trips but I don't do that now. A city runabout is all I need atm. They have chain-driven engines which seem quite rugged and long lasting, they rarely seem to have less than 100,000 miles on them when they come up for sale.

Get yourself a classic car that is over 40 years old and benefit from free motoring.

My 42 year old Ford Capri is tax and MOT exempt, it cost me a grand total of £60 for the insurance to be legally on the road, and that's it. I only have to put fuel in it.

My other Capri will be the same is just 5 years time, and our 2016 daily driver only costs us £30 VED.

I know a few people who use their classic car as a daily driver, all because it's free motoring. Maintenance is pretty much the same, cheaper on a classic car as you can easily work on them yourself, there's no hocus-pocus electrical wizardry to go wrong, or to pay a fortune for a garage to hook it up to a machine.

Morning all.

Grey and dull here too. But at least dry.

Quizzie had a sleepover with Bertie last night . What disgraceful behaviour for a 4 year old .

She's due back home in half an hour or so. Then the tremendous three some of Quizzie, Bertie & Bridget are off to the local lake for an hour or two.

Cue peaceful afternoon - except for her snoring.

Have a good weekend.

Here Ian, I thought your electric cars were supposed to be cheap to charge. A company that runs charging points up here had a glitch in its software resulting in people's accounts being billed for thousands! One driver in Aberdeenshire found a £3,016.22 charge on his account after a 16-minute charge.
