Default Zt kenwood radio

Anyone recommend a cheap kenwood radio that is compatible with the IR controls?

I have a Kenwood KDC 4554UB. The unit plugs straight into the cars ISO connectors and works on the steering wheel controls.

They are iPhone friendly, blue tooth and have blue illunination and plenty of punch with a more modern look to them.

They can be purchased quite cheaply on eBay.

Thanks not any on eBay at moment. I could probably do with with red/orange lighting. Do you know if any kenwood with IR/remote option will work.

Check the specification of the radio to see if it is compatible with IR steering wheel controls, or you will need a patch lead..

Coolcat is the man to talk to about ICE, he will probably catch up on the thread.

I've caught up
As Pab has said, best to look on Kenwoods website and check for the specification you want making sure it has infra red remote control capability and the button illumination colour you want.
I can't quote specific Kenwood units as I don't keep them in stock, we only get them in to order

I got one of these from Halfords yesterday to replace my 391
Kenwood KDC-3057UR CD Receiver With USB

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_165655

Works fine slotted straight in, the USB is to replace the cd changer that has started jumping and the sound is very good, also lights up red round the edges and blue in the center (looks better than it sounds).
I paid £35 as i had £20 of vouchers but even for £55 it is a good unit, the other option was the next one up the 4057 but £10 more for Bluetooth that i wont use wasn't worth it.
It does work with the steering wheel controls, at least it will when some kind person on here looks at my post asking which connector to put the steering wheel control wire into.
Apart from that i am very impressed with it for the price.

If you had bought a Kenwood with a Infra Red remote control inputs it would have worked straight off as your old Kenwood did.
If it's a hard wired swc control only you will need to buy a connects2 Rover75 swc loom and the relevant Kenwood patch lead to go with it.
It will also need a little bit of rewiring as well!
Expect to pay between £15.00 to £20.00 for these

Thank you for the quick reply i will have a look tomorrow.
The 394 just had the 2 block connectors whereas the new one has one block connector but has 1 empty slot compared to the previous, my thinking was this is the one that does the steering as apart from that all that was plugged in on the 394 was an aerial the block connector and the din for the cd changer
