Default Road repairs and marking

I note around the countryquite a few roads have had elements of repair or 'relay'. That said once done they are often without cats eyes or road markings though the latter may be added subsequently.

Set me thinking: is it an offence to cross a notional central white line where it used to be but now no longer or perhaps failing to stop at a light controlled pedetrian crossing if there are no stop lines? Just curious.

I remember the days of the big contarctors such as Limmer Trinidad and may be time playing tricks but road surface quality seems to have gone backwards since those times.

This is due to parts of the process of repair being allocated to different companies.

If a marking is not present the rule cannot be enforced, but hopefully common sense will prevail, though often that is lacking even when the marking is present. Any action we take should only be done if we have the confidence to defend that action, and it is safe and logical.

No road marking can be enforced in law unless the marking is complete. I.E. Double Yellow = No Parking...Only if it is one continuous line and has the appropriate ‘EndCap’ lines at each end of the the lines. Taught a parking warden that law a few years ago.
