Default Hobby Cars

I don't use mine as a daily drive, mainly for meets and shows, and also to preserve long term, bought it as a project car around 3 years ago, but used to drive my previous ZT as a daily drive

and currently restoring this one

I run my 75 everyday, it lives outside, and it's expected to earn its keep, carrying classic car parts, runs up and down the country, and so on. This isn't to say that it's abused, because it's as well-maintained as it can be. It's still a modern car, and, I think it's big enough to look after itself for a long time yet, since my Rover 2000 could cope with being used daily prior to buying it. I'm afraid I'll never have my 75 as a sunny day car, because I intend to use 75s everyday for a long time yet.
My 2000 is used as much as possible, though not everyday. It's out in all weathers though, because if I can't use it as and when I want to, there's no point in having it. This year it's not been used as much as usual, but it's still done 4000 miles. The 75 does 15k a year, roughly, and anything else which I have will generally do a few 1000 miles in my ownership. What I've found time and time again with older cars in particular, is that the less they're used, the worse they are. I found that my P5B was pretty horrible in they way it drove until I was running it everyday for a month or so. The 2000 is awful after it's been sitting inside for a few weeks too. I found my ZT was a bit lacklustre at first, due to a lack of use, but after 500 fairly hard miles, everything worked, and felt so much better. Cars are made to be driven, enjoyed, and well-kept. I don't see any reason why my 75 won't last any less time than one which isn't used.
The 800 will be a project, but it'll be out whenever I want to take it out, and won't be living inside very often, if ever.
I see no point in having a car in my possession which is scared of the rain.

I used to use mine as my transport to work, but now mainly a bit of a 'Hobby Car' I suppose. But I do use it quite a bit in good weather and for longer journeys.

But on average over the last 39 months I've done about 2000 miles a year....

You could say I'm trying to preserve as much as possible. A bit like why wear your best shoes everyday when you don't have to!

Mine is a daily driver to get to work and back. Can't say it's a show car at all. No garage means it never stays clean enough to worry about anything like that.

The 75 is the daily having clocked some 28k miles since I bought it from James Death in March 2013. Again as stated by others maintained as should be, still a few things to fix but getting there. The ZT is my weekend point and squirt car.

Mines a daily driver. Approx 20k per year, so it's difficult to keep in a "showroom" condition, as others seem able to do.
Makes me a bit jealous really...

Yes it is a daily drive when I am in the UK. It is not a show car but I do take it to meets if I can.

Mine is a daily car as well, it's used for commutes to and from work, wife then uses it for shopping, visiting and for anything else as needs must.

I wish I could own one that I could use now and again but the cost of two cars outweigh the need.

Mines a daily runner, regularly cleaned and treated to a under body powerwah now and then in the winter months.

My attension is being turned again toward a MGF for the summer months and garaged in the winter.
