Good morning all - thank you for your evocative photos of Derek and his likes today. Marmite, a Morrisons fry-up, Doris Day, his Black Beauty - they'll all stay with me forever as a reminder of what a privilege it is to have known such a gentleman.
On this sad day, let's celebrate his life - his service to Queen & Country, and his role as the kingpin of the OC
RIP mate

Good morning gents, I've ask a question about flowers for Derek's funeral on the other thread, but then thought I may get an answer here.

I've not read anything about flowers for Derek's funeral. Has the club gathered together and bought flowers for today, is there a kitty we can donate towards?

... or should we donate to a cause which is close to Derek and Lillian's heart?

There is a post - but I'm blessed if I can find it at the moment - which says that Lillian has requested family flowers only. There are also details of a "donations in lieu of flowers charity".
I'll keep looking for you

Good evening everyone, It's parky again out there I don't think it's been above 2C all day.

Rainbow trout, asparagus, cauliflower in a cheese sauce & herby potato wedges for tea.

Not long back from Derek’s funeral and all I can say is what a fantastic send off he was given.

The attendance from Family and Friends was wonderful to see and I thought the service was excellent.

On Derek’s final journey the Last Post was played and two members of his regeiment lowered their flag staffs as it played.
It was very emotional but so great to see a room filled with love for a man who touched everyone’s heart .

God speed Derek and thanks for all the great memories you have given us all.

Just thought I would post up the order of the service here for you guys.
