I buy from HERE, seems they've gone up 75p! Decent quality, and for the price, I renew every winter.

Washed and hoovered out Mrs MB's Classicasseur SE, opened the boot to a lovely dank smell

Emptied the boot, lifted the carpet up and marveled at the completely submerged full sized spare wheel

So after pumping out the bilges, I dried out the toolkit, greased the jack, left everything out for the time being.

Separated the boot carpet from the board, and employed my best scrubbing brush with some carpet shampoo, and some bleach solution to kill the black mould spots for the carpet and board respectively.

Clamped the boot carpet to the apex of my shed and rinsed liberally with my hosepipe and left in hanging to drip dry.

So while I thought on, the MOT was due today, so rang up my local X-Part garage to see if they could squeeze me in for a test this afternoon, "3.30 OK?"......great we'll see you then

So just in time to pick Mrs MB up from work, clean bill of health for the year with no advisories

Nice to work on one of my own for a change

Brian

Did you find the leak Brian ? Bumble has one that is bugging the life out of me......new light seals, silicone applied to both sides behind trim clips I have a rubber over mat and that gets a small puddle on so I would guess leaking from above but also get water in wheel well

Not yet Keith, I've only just found out...... I thought I'd cured all of the leaks a couple of years back with sealing of the back window trim clips, and new lamp seals....I suspect it's coming in one of the waist finisher clips

Found out mine was leaking near the hinge, in the rubber boot seal there are holes to expel air when you close the boot, the water was seeping in one of these & through into the boot Sealed it & no more dampiness
So far

My a/c has been making a bit of a drone recently. Nothing major but it's there none the less. One of those drones that varies with engine revs, sounds a bit like a supercharger. I suspected, having read about lubrication, that a re-gas was in order. I took it along to my local garage who promptly phoned me a while later to say it didn't need a re-gas. I asked about the drone which he advised was either the compressor or pump on its way out.

No charge obviously but his advice was to run it until it packs up. That sounds expensive......

Refilled with 5-40 fully synthetic for the winter, complete with a new filter. I've done this with all my K series since I had a rattly start up on a 1.4. It may be psychological but the engine seems even quieter than usual!
Roll on next summer!
