the rear suspension arm bush is at the front,i made the same mistake thinking rear meant at the back but its just the rear bush of two at the front, and i have had them go on three cars now and make the clunking noise, also dont be tempted by the cheap ones they only last a couple of thousand miles, cheers

I replaced the rear bushes on my front wishbones last year as they were shot. There was a significant improvement, but I still got knocking when going over bumps / potholes. Just recently changed the two front wishbones in their entirity and for the first time ever in my ownership - all is quiet.

these are the ones I bought from DMGRS https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/collections/...2500-rbx101760

They include the rear bushes which are also fitted.

If you can be bothered replace your steering column especially if you think there is play in it etc. That can give a feel of vague ot non-resposive steering. Just done mine but still get clunks. On to ARB bushes now as the culprit. Steerings nice and firm now though.

My zt has started to make a very slight clunking over potholes that i never really noticed before. Also the steering feels a bit vague and twitchy over certain surfaces. What could this be? The drop links have been done. Also passed mot and tester said it all felt solid back in Feb.
Is this just a trait of the zt having firm suspension etc?

May I suggest that you should suspect the strut top mounting and bearing, it doesn't give many clues when all jacked up.
Good luck
