Another Brake wear sensor question
Hi,
I've been reading some of the wear sensor issue threads recently.....this is my question...... Changed the rear discs and pads recently, warning light not on but discs were not up to scratch. The brake wear sensor broke on removal so replaced it with a new one. All back together went for a drive all ok with the braking, the warning light came on. Back home connected a brand new sensor (not fitted in the pad) light still on. Thought maybe the front coincidentally may need replacing, so connected a new sensor brake light still on. So....pretty sure the rear is the problem.. I know I can connect the two wires together, but having tried two new sensors seems to suggest another problem... I may be missing something here ?

There's a break somewhere in the wiring. A loss of continuity pops the warning, wherever it is in the system. Check for the harness scuffing on the drive shaft.

That was my thinking, although I can't see any evidence wear through up to where it the wire enters the body. Also it seems to coincidental with the change.
I will check it through again....maybe on disconnecting the sensor I damaged the fixed part of the connector!!!!!!!

Make sure the sensor connectors are pushed absolutely together. I've even used water pump pliers on mine to get that 'click'.

As the above post. The sensor connectors are under the bonnet against the wings.--
