75 CDTI Connie non runner
After my mother killed our much loved Connie and several attempts to repair it we have decided to sell as non runner, ideal for a project, parts or donor. The car had starting issues which we attempted to fix several things before eventually finding the timing had slipped.
75 2.0 CDTI Connie SE Saloon Silver Code MUM 2.0 CDTI 2001 (51) Approx. 170,000 (no battery to check) No Tax or MOT This was pretty much top of the range, full leather, memory electric heated seats (front) cruise control, reverse sensors and the electric rear window sun blind (fully functional). The interior on the car is immaculate for its age and the drivers seat is not ripped torn and barely scuffed. The Exterior needs some work, slight tiny scuff on rear bumper, the black plastic around the wing mirrors has started to fade and the front bumper is from another car (not colour match) which is missing a fog light after hitting a badger. Other than that, wings, bonnet, roof, doors, boot and rear bumper are in great shape. The engine is in pieces as was not put back together after we found out the engine was dead. would need a new engine lump. New under bonnet fuel pump and rear wheel bearings fitted with no miles as car didn't start. Also front wishbones and bushes replaced within the last 2 years. Location Doncaster I have tried to be as honest as I can but if there is anything else please message me. Have been offered £150 scrap but would rather this car be of more use, a nice project or parts to keep your loved one on the road. was looking for £180 as there are still plenty of good parts. I have no idea on how to upload images (much appreciated if someone could tell me how) or if you would like I can send images via email. Lee

Never heard of the timing slipping on a cdt. Why do you think it has?
Dont think you are allowed to ask for offers when selling under club rules either. You might want to pm a mod to check. But if i were you id post more about your symptons, get it fixed and keep her. |

Ah yeah I did read that but forgot, added a price.
And a local engineer on here (Andy willy) always works on our cars and has stripped engine and found timings out. We had all pumps, injectors, alternator, started checked...she wanted to start but wouldn't

Yeah, I think you're right David. You need to put an asking price, open to offers. Unless £150 is the asking price. |

Andy certainly knows his stuff, wonder why it has slipped. Chain snapped?

Exactly, think it's first car Andys worked on where it happened. Hence why we tried everything else before he checked timing. But been stood now and needs a new home as I don't have time for it. Still got two mgs though, the mother is not breaking these!

To upload photos you need an online photo sharing account - photo bucket or similar. Then you simply post links to the photos on there.
All the best with getting your 75 sold Fred
