You English are too polite sometimes!
If the guy takes advantage, call him out publicly.
Don't beat around the bush. There are no excuses, except lying in hospital in a coma, and then he will be forgiven!

I don't know the finer details of the transaction, but from posts it would seem this user was still trying to get the thing to work and the OP says that "try it to see if it worked, if it did, he could send me a tenner to cover postage & cost of the unit".

As far as we're aware it doesn't work yet.

This user was last online 11 days ago (who knows if it was even them on the computer) and their last post 17 days ago. They might be busy, away on holiday etc.

In the past this user has been polite with other users and usually thanks them for their help. Give them a chance.

lets hope its a breakdown in communication.Ronnie is one of the good guys and rarely comes across negative without good reason. Not many ( including myself) would have the decency to offer the way he did to someone he doesn't know well..If the member in question is how P NUT describes them is ok , then i'm sure it will be resolved .And i feel sure Ronnie will be the first to thank him / her for making good on the deal.

A few weeks ago, a new member was asking for a dvbtv unit for his d/din in his car. I had one, with aerial etc from a few years ago, which worked very well with my d/din, & also with my indoor tv. So, I said I'd post it to him, foc, & he could try it to see if it worked, if it did, he could send me a tenner to cover postage & cost of the unit, bearing in mind these digital tv things cost over £30 Since then, & after a pm asking if it worked or not, nothing even after he'd sent me a pm admiring the gentlemanly way I conducted business
Obviously not reciprocal
Not, I hasten to add, my experience of the majority of the members here, but, just a wake up call to some
I shall now choose very carefully who I do business with
It was me that you send the DVB box too, and I am very, very grateful.

I haven't been around for the past few weeks, and I am very sorry but this completely slipped my mind.

I will get the tenner off to you post haste. I actually saw this post as I logged on here to apologise for not getting back to you.

Thank you Tim, I had hoped it was just an oversight. Could a moderator now close this thread as we seem to have a happy conclusion

It’s not about the amount, it’s about the principle involved.

Glad this one has come to a happy conclusion, they don’t always end this way.
