new top strut mount bearings
Just did the top strut bearings on one of my 75s,also did the steering rack bellows that were split at the same time.
Drivers side was knackered when going straight you could feel the steering trying to find a spot that was obviously damaged. Wow,what a difference, steering is now very accurate precise again. Symptoms were steering wheel was getting small vibrations over bumps and and steering was a bit vague at times, almost like tram linning when going straight. I thought it might have been the track rods but they were all fine. I got the bearings from DMGR and they seem to be very good quality in fact they look like the original ones MGR used. Pain the ar..e job to do though. |

I done mine and the new strut bolts were made of what is best described as metal plated toffee. One sheared but luckily there's space to fit new bolts easily. Mines were cheap efforts so recommend buying good quality.

Apart from doing the struts ,also replaced the top engine tie mount and the hydrmount engine mount and the auxillary belt!! Getting better, knocked the engine mounts and belt over in about 50 minutes. The struts however I wont go into - spent a good part of the day with that one !!!
