Got them fitted to my MG ZT V6, and never had a problem, find them decent tyres, and have got Nexon on my ZTT, and they are decent for the price, but Avons seem to be Quieter Stu |

A bit left field, but I'm a big fan of Vredestein tyres from Holland. Had many and always been happy with them. Vredestein Ultrac Satin or maybe Sportrac 5, not sure what's available in that size. Really worth considering.

I have just gone and bought a set of Roadstone Eurovis Sport04 97 XL which are the same as the Nexen Nfera Su1. These will be going on a set of Unions.
I have always rated Nexens and hope these perform as well as the N3000 and N7000 I have used in the past. Check the price of them on ebay Stubs |

I have Falken ZE914 Tyres on my ZT-T and Continental Premium Contact Tyres on my C1, find both sets of tyres very good.

As it happens I have Hankook on the front and I have just fitted the Avon's on the rear.
When the Hankook wear out it will be Avon's all round. Simply because they are cheaper and I don't drive hard enough or fast enough to notice any difference! From what I have read, there is very little difference between the well known brands, and there is very little difference between the cheap no name brands. However, there is a huge difference between named and no name brands when you really need grip.

Funny, the “XL” versions come out cheapest?! Anyone gotXL rated tyres on their car? Does it make much difference ie. Noisier/ride harshness?

I inadvertently ended up with XL's on my 17" Meteors albeit with mixed mid range assortment of tyres. I swapped to Goodyear Efficientgrip 91V iirc and found the ride less harsh and smoother but that could of course been down to the fact that new tyres v worn. As time as gone on I have been disappointed with the noise level of the Goodyears I find they do boom a bit. So inconclusive would be my answer to your question.
Noting the comments here I think I may well try Avons when the current set are done.

I eventualky settled on the Avon zv7’s. Non-XL version. Will keep posted on how they go, but so far I think grip in dry is excellent, noise is reasonably low too.
