Default Help needed quickly

Trying to change the driver lock actuator that would lock but did not unlock and the only way I could get the door open was to use the key.

So removed the old actuator and fitted the new one, seemed to work Ok when I pressed the the key to lock and unlock - i.e. movement in the actuator. so shut the driver door and the door pin part fell off into the car door.

Tried to unlock on the key fob not working, tried to unlock on the key inserted still nothing, there is a resistance but the handle does not open the door.

Not put the door card back on and the windows are down thankfully.

So at the moment I can only get into the car via the passenger door which works on the key fob.

Help.

Panic over - in thru the passenger side and with window up I could pull up the handle rod which unlocked the door. Look lile the rod that connects the handle to the lock was not tight enough and didn't have enought pull to open the door. Now to start again.

Moral leave doors and windows open when working on the car, you'll never know when you'll need them open.

What a pain that was, got the handle part working and then the indoor release cable came loose with the actuator fitted, had to fit it back on blind in situ.

then tried the door and still didn't work but checked the connector on the actuator which wasn't plugged in full and voila a working locking and unlocking door.

I am now bent double with being on my knees for the best part of 3 hours.

I am too old (and too fat) for this. Only got the 2 back doors to do now

Stubs
