Default H1, H4 and H7 Headlight bulbs in Poundland

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but I did a search and couldnt see it....

Yes, the 3 bulbs mentioned above in packs of 2 in Poundland..............(and at least 1 other £1 shop)

A guy on the other side fitted a pair of H7's 23,000 miles ago and theyre still working...

I could only find the H1's which fit my front fogs and the H4's.....its the H7's I need.....so will keep on looking......

and if they last anywhere near half the 23,000 miles I'll be extremely happy...

H1 is also a fitment to the inboard high beam on mk1 models with Reflector lenses. It would be interesting to see how these bulbs perform in the dark of night, and not how long they last.

But at the price, they must be a bargain.

I would only fit 'em to easy to access bulbs. I have used them on several cars and they did not really last too well. OK to keep in the boot for spares though.

I would say AVOID, I bought two packs as boot spares for each car.

Bulb went on the 75 on Saturday night before we were due to go out, I swapped out and off we went, 20 minutes later it was dead.

This is what I found on Sunday Morning:

All packs now in the bin, knew it was a bad idea when I bought them.

It can only be heat and gas expansion that caused the bulb to swell, surprised the fuse did not pop to be honest.

For the price of a normal bulb I think I will avoid the ultra cheapies from now on, even as emergency spares.
