Does anyone really use the SatNav?
I was quite excited when I first got my V6 as it has SatNav but soon found that it doesn't accept postcodes and is in all other respects much inferior to my TomTom, unless I'm mistaken. So does anyone find it any use?

Yes I use mine all the time. With the right type of disc you can get 5 digit postcode to work, along with real-time traffic alerts and re-routing with the TMC function and of course it still works if you go through tunnels etc when Tom Tom units lose satellite signal, also it means you don’t have to keep taking it out and hiding it when you park the car. It also pauses the CD or tape player (or ipod if you’ve got it fitted) when it makes verbal announcements.
My disc even has telephone numbers for hotels and restaurants etc as part of it’s points of interest. Not bad for a system that’s twenty year old tech. Wouldn’t be without it personally. |

Me, only had the car since May, got the DVD in the boot. A 2019 BMW disc purchased.
Checking all the receipts that came with the car there is a BM24 amp and a BMW digital TV tuner fitted. Sound is good through the HK system.

We love using the retro electronic in these cars !!
5 digit post code works a treat if you know the road name and house number it will get you right to the door

Is yours the CD or DVD?
If DVD, BMW latest disc will work: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-B...5eb067e3a9a6de
