Default Out of fuel

Guys hoping quick question
I ran out of Diesel on way home managed to coast to drive and done the walk of shame to garage and got 6 litrles of fuel added to rover 75 diesel but engine still not firing it turns over but not into live, is there something else I need to do

Sorted it

Added another 5 litres as was told this need around 10 and let the pump do some stuff technical me let it do it three or four times and it fired up. now got full tank

sounds like the in tank pumps failed and just the under bonnet one is working

sounds expensive, is it, if so any good garages near herts that would do the job, guess will be filling up before half a tank

Before you order one, lift the back seat and listen to the o/s to see if you can hear a humming, as soon as the ignition is turned on, dont get confused with the humming from the under bonnet pump, which(in mine at least) is quite loud...
