I'm not sure how our system works but it seems I'm not alone with the passenger seat height issue.
Can the moderator please (if this is possible) relay my message specifically to Brian (Marinabrian). His information may help several others and I'm not sure how normally he might receive my earlier request.
Hope this is OK & thanks if possible.
John

John I have examined a drawing of the passenger seat frame which can be found on Rimmers site. The seat fame is held to the car floor by 4 bolts It appears it would not be too difficult to bolt the appropriate length of box or U section steel to the floor and then bolt the seat to that. I would suggest you check with your wife to establish what is the "right" height, perhaps with a car that has the right height and take the overall measurement from that and see if that could be achieved on the 75 otherwise its is a bit of fiddling about for nothing. Best of luck. Chris.S.

If there is enough interest in this I could look into doing a kit to raise the passenger seat. I'm thinking two lengths of solid metal square bars the length of the runners which the seat can bolt straight through to the car would be a safer and stronger method than raising all four bolts separately with small bits of metal. Think a 3- 4 inch rise in seat height would make a decent difference.

I too find the passenger seat is a bit low in the 75 and ZT.

I have made a height adjustment passenger seat for my ZT with the memory option by using bits from a driver's side height adjustment and standard passenger side seat. Required quite a bit of work, so not straight forward to do.

Hi John, I used a RHD memory seat, stripped off the cushions, then mounted the motors on the opposite side, and fitted the mounting for the seat belt pretensioner on the opposite side also.

The latter being the trickiest if you don't have welding gear.

I then modified a passenger side switch skirt to accept the memory switch, and fitted a LHD eight way switch pack courtesy of Trikey.

The end result is a memory heated cloth seat in place of the manual one, my mother presses a button to position the seat into the most comfortable position to enter or exit the car, and presses another to move the seat into the most comfortable for travelling in.

I didn't take pictures as this project evolved I'm afraid, however the end result looks like this..........

I need to raise my passenger seat and was thinking along similar lines. Packing pieces may not be strong enough so solid bars or a solid frame would be stronger and I guess would need high tensile bolts.
I am not concerned about having electric adjustment. If you do come up with anything Rick I would be interested to hear. Tony

I think I'd change the car rather than raise the seat, there's a real chance of banging your head as you step in.

To quote you..."If it isn't a 75 then it's just a car". And that is the problem.

And that is the problem if as you say "Change the Car"

That would be a good idea Rick, my wife is now complaining how low the passenger seat is. The few times I sit in it as a passenger it's too low for my taste and I admit I have my driver's seat as high as possible, and I'm 6ft+ tall, lol.

So, yes, I would be interested, even if it was some plans and I could get my garage to fabricate one possibly.

Just thinking,
Would two Aluminum/Steel billets of suitable dimensions cut to length and drilled, placed direct to the floor and then bolts thru said billets and seat frame with longer bolts into the original holes.

Would this work??
