Default All because they gave £200 for £1,000 car ?

I have never sold them a car but it looks like many millions have.

I completely agree, it is obscene. as you say all down to ripping people off who are usually desperate for cash. and all the others at the bottom of the article. Capitalism Works!

No accountability at all. Yes they are private companies so in effect can do what they want. What definitely should be stopped is giving honours to any business man or woman. They get ample rewards in their pay packets, and when you consider some who have been given honours like that creep Philip Green it makes you wonder, although in his case the starry eyed idiot Blair gave him the knighthood.

The title has me a bit confused as I don't quite see the relevance to the linked article.

Some people just want shot of their car and don't want the hassle of selling it. Like payday loans, those that need the money the most are the ones that end up worse off.
The amount of money she has been awarded, really is more then most people can spend.

There advert was "quite good" people got a better deal paying cash then trading in, perhaps true but if they sold privately they would have had more cash.

Can/should we legislate against such firms?

Quite a big issue these days, people allowed to borrow money when they haven't a chance of being able to afford the repayments. It's a gamble people take, and there is rarely a good outcome for a gambler. If you need money for something and can't afford it then you can't afford the loan I'd have thought.
Yes, we buy any car is feasible if you just want rid. Better than the scrap yard, but you'll never get it's true worth.

I don't have a problem with Webuyanycar. They exist because people people wish to use their services.

It's worth thinking about why people sell cars to them and the risk/costs associated with buying each car. This risk and cost is exactly the reason that car dealers do not wish to buy them.

As for the obscene salary of the CEO, that is just the norm in our world today. It will take concerted effort from politicians in power to start to turn things around. Is that likely to happen - I suspect the situation will continue to get worse in terms of the average wage vs the financial packages awarded to top executives.

So, the V8 offer would be consistent with the views of some of our resident experts!

The company I work for use it to get rid of old company cars so definitely has its uses. Why do people see profit as something dirty? It’s why she’s in charge because she came up an effective business strategy and who among us would turn her bonus down? No one is forced to deal with them, if you want more for your car sell it privately with all the associated hassles
